This graphic design workshop goes beyond tools and trends to focus on one of the most essential—and often misunderstood—skills in creative practice: critique. While we’ll briefly cover foundational design principles to establish shared language, the core of this session is about learning how to evaluate work in a way that is constructive, objective, and genuinely motivating.

Participants will learn how to critique both their own work and the work of others without falling into condemnation. We’ll explore the critical difference between feedback that shuts creativity down and critique that celebrates what’s working, clearly identifies what isn’t, and invites meaningful change. When done well, critique doesn’t discourage—it creates momentum. When done poorly, it eliminates any opportunity for growth. We’ll learn to recognize the difference and practice doing it right.

Most importantly, this workshop is hands-on. After learning a shared framework for critique, we’ll apply it together by reviewing real work from the room. Attendees are encouraged to bring at least one piece—finished or in-progress—to participate in guided, respectful, and actionable critiques that prioritize clarity, curiosity, and creative confidence. Bring a piece of your work and a willingness to engage.
