Making Space: Contour Drawing as a Practice of Attention
This workshop invites participants to make space for presence by slowing down the act of seeing. Through the practices of blind and sighted contour drawing, participants will explore attention as a creative discipline rather than a technical skill.

Frameworks for Critique
This graphic design workshop goes beyond tools and trends to focus on one of the most essential—and often misunderstood—skills in creative practice: critique. While we’ll briefly cover foundational design principles to establish shared language, the core of this session is about learning how to evaluate work in a way that is constructive, objective, and genuinely motivating.

Fiction Writing; Battling the Narcissist Within
Every writer faces the temptation to make our own ideas, experiences, and selves pre-eminent—to write autobiography rather than tell a story. An inward gaze rarely yields stories anyone wants to read. Through examples from writers who’ve waged this battle, we’ll consider together how we might better pursue truth, goodness, and beauty in our storytelling.

Improv as a Means to Unlocking a More Well-Rounded Self
In this workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of improvisation as a performance art form through a range of exercises and games. We will also explore how the skills and knowledge gained from doing improv can be applied to our everyday lives. Whether that’s in your creative process as an artist, applying for a job, or a desire for a little more pizazz in your small talk! The goals of this workshop are to get you out of your comfort zone in a fun and safe environment, exercise out-of-the-box thinking, and encourage trust, acceptance, and presence within improv, ourselves, and as an ensemble. No prior experience is needed. Just come with an open mind and be ready to have fun!

The Joy of Songcraft with John Mark McMillan
In The Joy of Songcraft, platinum-selling songwriter John Mark McMillan explores the philosophies, practices, and creative habits behind meaningful, enduring songs. Drawing from years of writing, recording, and living with songs in the real world, John Mark reflects on both the craft and the inner life of the songwriter.

Instrumental Genius: The Body’s Innate Blueprint for Beauty
In this workshop, we return to the body as our first instrument—learning its its ancient intelligence, space for breath, and the quiet signals that can lead us back into creative flow. Through fundamental practices of movement and mindful breathing, we’ll explore the science and design of the nervous system as a living collaborator rather than a barrier to creativity. Together we’ll remember what it means to find home within our very own being, cultivating that grounded state before we even pick up any of our other beloved instruments.
